There are so many ideas out there on how to teach Geography. While we do use a curriculum, A Childs Geography, we tend to go off on our own rabbit trails. That’s the fun of homeschooling right? While there’s no one right way of studying Geography there’s no reason why it can’t be fun and REALLY interesting!!
That Moment…..that moment when you realize all that you planned/wanted in life has not happened, not even close, and it is too late.
That moment when you realize what a mess your life has become and you can’t quite put your finger on the (more…)
I was struggling with ideas on how to study the Great Painters of the World with my children. I really wanted them to have this experience. So when I was given an opportunity to do a review on one of the project packs from In the Hands of a Child, of course, I chose Great Painters of the World. What a blessing!
Our most powerful resource as a parent is prayer. We must bring our children before the throne of grace every day, several times a day! I’ve heard it said that we will never be perfect parents, but we can be praying parents. This is so true and vitally important. We need to have a daily goal
January 27th was formally designated as International Holocaust Remembrance Day by the United Nations General Assembly, on November 1, 2005. This date was chosen because on this day in 1945 the Russians troops liberated Auschwitz.
I know it’s the middle of January and I’m a bit late on my Word of the Year 2017, but I haven’t had a word of the year before now. I have seen a lot of people doing this and I thought a Word of the Year could be used as an awesome accountability tool in my walk with the Lord.
Are you wondering how to revamp or improve what you’ve been doing in your day-to-day homeschooling?
Do you want or NEED shorter days, a richer learning environment, or just more freedom to “school” without all the busy work?

This is the second post in the Fruit of the Spirit Study Series. If you missed the first post you can find it here. This study series has been such a blessing to me. Going through Scripture, there’s just so much to be learned and applied daily. God’s Spirit has really been dealing with me during this study. I hope that you don’t just read this post, but dig into the Scriptures. Now on to the fruit of Joy!
When my husband and I came back together you can imagine there were some adjustments to be made. After all, the children were used to dealing with two different homes with two different sets of rules. And the fact that we were apart for more than two years, it would take some time to get back into our own roles.
Life was wonderful for the first couple months, but (more…)
My youngest son, let’s just call him Flash because he NEVER stops, created a YouTube channel and I’m not really sure how I feel about this. You see, my son’s birthday is early December so my (ex)husband let him have the option of combining his Birthday and Christmas to get the laptop he has been wanting. Now, my 11-year-old son is a YouTuber!
As I mentioned in The Choice to be Fruitful, I have begun my study series in the fruit of the Spirit, beginning with love. Our definition of love must come from God (1 Corinthians 13:4-5), Who is holy, just, and perfect. “He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love“, 1 John 4:8. God is the Author, Giver, Enabler, Origin, and Definer of love.
As I mentioned in Owl Pellets and My Walk with the Lord, the desire of my heart is to draw closer to God. If you haven’t read that post, you can find it here.
One way for me to draw closer to God is to grow in my knowledge of God. And a way to grow in my knowledge of God is to (more…)
