That Moment…..that moment when you realize all that you planned/wanted in life has not happened, not even close, and it is too late.
That moment when you realize what a mess your life has become and you can’t quite put your finger on the moment when it started to get so out of control. When you wonder whose life you’re living.
That moment when you realize you have made a very bad decision (a couple in fact), and now you have to figure out how to move on from here.
That moment when you realize you don’t like who you have become, and you have no idea how you got so far from who you really are. I guess eventually we become who we are told that we are, over and over and over and over and over…….
You may have noticed I haven’t been posting for a while. AGAIN. In fact, I haven’t posted since February eighth! I know the post at the top of my page is dated March sixth, but that post is stuck at the top of my page and to date, I have not been able to figure out why. The sixth of March was the last attempt at unsticking it.
The delay in posting began while I was doing a series on the Fruit of the Spirit and the next fruit was peace. I wrestled with it for a while, read a lot about it, and prayed over it. BUT, I just couldn’t bring myself to actually write about it.
You see, in my mind, I kept hearing things like: “How can you write about something that you don’t even have? How can you try to encourage others in something that doesn’t exist within yourself? Don’t be a fake!” It’s not that I don’t want peace. I crave peace in my life. But there are what I call peace-robbers. You know, people and events that rob you of any possibility of peace.
Then I got sick!
I was down for a week. And it took another couple of days to actually get back to feeling somewhat normal again. although, I still couldn’t bring myself to write about the subject of peace.
Did I mention I just turned 53? Yep, five days ago. My oldest son and his fiance took me to dinner. I had so much fun. It did my soul good.
So I kept thinking about this post on peace that I was supposed to write. And I kept procrastinating. During this period of my procrastination, I started reading about blogging. I have been blogging for a while now, off and on, and I haven’t seen much improvement. The research also helped me to feel like I wasn’t just sitting around avoiding the post. Which I was. Avoiding the post that is, not just sitting around.
It is amazing all the information available on the subject of blogging!
Through all this information I started spotting consistencies among the varied authors. A couple of those consistencies were “BE YOURSELF” “BE REAL” LET YOUR AUDIENCE KNOW YOU”
So, instead of a post about peace (which may never get written), you are getting a post on that moment. I know you have all had them. Your moment may not be like my moment. BUT, it was that moment in your life that propelled you into a different direction, or you created a very important goal, or you made a major change in your life.
It was a call to action. My call to action. The way I saw it, I had two choices:
- Continue in the direction my life was going and continue regretting it and possibly having a few pity parties along the way.
- Do something about it and NEVER get in this moment again.
Can you guess which one I chose?
That’s right! I chose to DO SOMETHING. I chose to take my life back. Take me back. Make time for what is important to me. Get to know myself. Even like myself. I’m choosing the ending to my story!
After all, This is MY story!
Now begins my journey. I’m quite excited about it! The whole world is out their….waiting for me. And if you’re interested, I will be periodically posting updates (changes to my life) on this journey.
Of course, I will continue to post about other topics as well 😉
Please leave a comment below and share your moment and what action you were called to. You never know who you might get to encourage today.
