As single moms, one of our biggest struggles is finances. Many of us are leaving our children home or with a sitter so we can go to a job that barely covers the bills. And some of us, like me, are working two jobs to make ends meet and have a little left over at the end of the month. The struggle is real and I get it!!  Because of this, I have found some apps that can save/make you money.

Shopkick – Shopkick rewards users for making qualified purchases. The rewards come in the form of points called kicks—which can be exchanged for gift cards, not cash—and more important, users can also earn kicks without actually spending any money.

Target Cartwheel – An essential for anyone who shops at Target, the Cartwheel app features a constantly updated list of the retailer’s latest discounts and deals. Just add the offers to the Cartwheel app, go shopping, and get your phone scanned at the store checkout to pile up the savings.

Coupon Sherpa – Coupon Sherpa rounds up promotional codes and coupons that offer big discounts for hundreds of retailers. Most of the deals are digital, but there are hundreds of printable coupons for groceries too.

Boxed – Boxed is like a Costco for home delivery, where you can order items in bulk. Boxed has no membership fee, plus you get free delivery if your order exceeds $49. Savings can pile on too if you purchase one of Boxed’s premade bundles with tailored items,

Saving Star – SavingStar lets shoppers earn cash back by tapping and then buying the current offers. SavingStar works at nearly every supermarket chain, as well as at warehouse clubs like Costco, BJ’s, and Sam’s Club. The cash you earn is paid via PayPal or a retail gift card or goes directly to your bank account.

GeoQpons – GeoQpons filters coupons by stores near your location, while also showing you daily coupons, sales, and ads for your favorite retailers, like Target or Old Navy. Plus, you can search nearby malls and find out which stores are offering deals or coupons.

Garage Sales by Map – Use the Garage Sales app to find nearby sales, or filter the list by keyword to find a seller offering something specific. And you can increase the foot traffic of your own garage sale too—just pop in your address at the site. The app is free to download and use, but you’ll pay a fee if you want to go ad-free.

Swagbucks – Swagbucks is a great way to earn free gift cards by doing a bit of work online. Fill out surveys, watch videos, use specific websites, and shop at certain retailers to rack up Swagbucks points. Then redeem points for gift cards at places like Amazon and Target or take the cash. Swagbucks brags that it has given away more than $285 million since its 2008 debut.

Checkout51 – This rebate app offers a way for you to save while still completing your weekly shopping. Just make sure to follow all the steps, and you can earn some extra cash. Simply make an account, browse new offers every Thursday morning, and head to the store. Then upload a photo of your receipt, claim your offers, and watch your balance grow. Once you hit $20, Checkout 51 will send you a check.

Paribus – Usually when you buy something, you never have a clue once the product has dropped in price at the same retailer. Paribus aims to solve that problem with little effort. Download the app and connect it to your email, and it automatically searches for any receipts eligible for a refund based on a decreased price. It claims to have earned more than $24 million in savings for users and tracks more than 25 major retailers, including Walmart, Nordstrom, and Target. While Amazon no longer offers price-drop refunds, Paribus will scan for late deliveries from the company to get money back.

AMC Theaters – Tuesdays are your time if you’re on the hunt for perks. If you live near an AMC theater, sign up for the free AMC Stubs program online to access $5 Ticket Tuesdays. Then download the AMC Theatres app, where you can access Stubs points that add up to rewards like free large popcorn refills.

Lucktastic – Each day, Lucktastic releases a new assortment of digital scratch-off tickets. Lucktastic says instant wins range from $1 to $10,000. You can also earn tokens, enter contests and play games. The app is supported by advertising, which allows it to keep the payouts high and the games free.

Ibotta – Ibotta pays you cash for taking pictures of your grocery store receipts. Before heading to the store, search for items on your shopping list within the Ibotta app. When you get home, snap a photo of your receipt and scan the items’ barcodes. Plus, you’ll get a $10 sign-up bonus after uploading your first receipt.

Receipt Hog – Receipt Hog is a fun and easy way to turn your everyday receipts into real cash and rewards. Just take pictures of your receipts then you will earn Receipt Hog rewards like coins, spins at the virtual slot machine, and sweepstakes prizes. You then cash out with PayPal or Amazon gift cards.
